Rob Farr has served the Metro West Fire Protection District since 2008, when he joined the organization as a Reserve Firefighter. Inspired to pursue a career in public service following the events of September 11 while attending Selvidge Middle School, he was hired full-time as a Firefighter/Paramedic in 2011 and steadily advanced through the ranks, promoting to Lieutenant in 2019, Captain in 2023, and Battalion Chief in 2026.
As Battalion Chief, Rob serves on Metro West’s command staff, helping oversee emergency response operations, personnel development, and the delivery of fire and EMS services throughout the district. Known for professionalism, leadership, and a strong work ethic, he has earned the trust and respect of both his peers and District leadership through years of dedicated service to the community.
Throughout his career, Rob has remained committed to professional growth and operational readiness. He maintains Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) certifications in Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Trench Rescue while continuing to expand his leadership and technical expertise within the fire service.
Rob earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management from Northwest Missouri State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Mississippi State University.
Outside of work, Rob and his wife, Amber, enjoy traveling the country with their sons, Colt and Mack.
